06 Nov Hungary for success
Hi everyone,
Just a short update ahead of Rally Hungary. After arriving on Monday evening, we had an enjoyable test yesterday (Tuesday) where we able to continue dialing in the settings for the Hyundai. In truth, it isn’t that different from my Fiesta, it’s the little things that take a little bit of getting used to but we are starting to get on top of it in terms of set up with a lot of positive steps made so far. Having yesterday’s test was a huge help to get familiar with everything, including the roads. The first day of recce went well, it’s a unique rally with stages under trees and through open vineyards and a mix of tarmac and concrete surfaces. There’s even a few sections of gravel thrown in for good measure, probably more than I expected to be honest. It all seemed very slippy today which will make things interesting for the weekend I’m sure.
We have one more day of recce tomorrow before free practice and qualifying on Friday morning. There’s a ceremonial start on Friday evening followed immediately by a spectator stage in the town of Nyíregyháza which should be a bit of fun, before we get down to business on Saturday morning. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes over the last few weeks to make this deal happen for this event and I would like to thank everyone who has helped, in any way, to help us get here. Brian and myself will work our hardest to deliver the best result we can for the team.
